Henry A. Rocker was a prominent lawyer and a leader in civic and Jewish affairs. The son of Hungarian immigrant and editor Samuel Rocker, Henry A. Rocker graduated from Cleveland Law School in 1907 and practiced law in the Cleveland area until 1950. Samuel Rocker founded and served as editor and publisher of a Yiddish newspaper, The Jewish World (Die Yiddishe Velt), in Cleveland, Ohio. Born in Galicia, he studied for the rabbinate and immigrated to the United States in 1891. In 1898, he established the first Jewish print shop in Cleveland.
